In March 2016, I took the original script/ concept and incorporated edits and changes.
From February to May 2015 research was conducted by the original workshop participants and findings were used to adapt a free use version of the source material. We workshopped the full piece several times in the process.
Below is the first scene.

PRESHOW MUSIC:
SCENE
1
ALL
ON STAGE ARE IN BLACK CLOTHES AND WHITE MASKS.
[Ode to Technology by Tien Dang]
WHITE
RABBIT
You've brought us closer,
Then made us more distant.
TWEEDLE
MAC
Made us more aware,
Then made us doubtful of ourselves.
TWEEDLE
PC
Introduce us to more friends,
Then invited more enemies.
HUMPTY
DUMPTY
Given us more publicity,
Then exploited us.
DOORMOUSE
Save us more time,
Now it's spent to be more busy.
CATERPILLAR
Simplify our tasks just to make life more difficult.
You're an entrapping blessing in disguise.
MAD MATTER
Made us feel more secure,
Yet gave us more tools to break in.
MOTHER
You've become our new addiction,
MARCH HARE
Just a second without you,
Got us in technology withdraw.
SIRI
You're a complication in simplicity.
There's so much to love you but also so much to hate.
ALL
Can't live with you or without you…
BLACKOUT.
ALICE
Christopher Columbus' voyages across the Atlantic Ocean
began a European effort at exploration and colonization…
ALICE
YAWNS.
…of the Western Hemisphere. While history places great
significance on his first voyage of 1492…
ALICE
YAWNS AGAIN.
… he did not actually reach the South American mainland
until…
ALICE
STOPS READING.
This isn’t interactive enough!!! In my special world, books
would be nothing but pictures and everything would be interactive – and social!
Oh I know…my mom would tell me “this is very important for your future…” but
it’s so BORING!
ALICE
PICKS UP TABLET.
He did not actually reach the South American mainland until
his third voyage in 1498. Instead, he made landfall on an island in the Bahamas
Archipelago that he named San Salvador while trying to find a sea route to
India, hence the indigenous inhabitants were called "Indians."
Likewise, he was not the earliest...
ALICE
STOPS READING.
If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.
Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn´t…
ALICE
GIGGLING EXCITEDLY.
…And the other way round, what it is, it wouldn´t be, and
what it wouldn´t be, it would.
And everything would be ONLINE!
In my world… Cats and rabbits would be CGI and live in
beautiful little houses, and be dressed in CGI shoes and hats and trousers…better
than my real dog! That old dopey dog. Because my world would be a a
technological treasure trove…Technoland…Yesssssss…Technoland…
ALICE
SLUMPS BACK IN HER CHAIR AND READS SILENTLY FROM HER TABLET.
RABBIT
RUNS ACROSS THE STAGE AND DISAPPEARS.
ALICE
Stop. Wait. OMG, what a cute rabbit. He’s wearing a vest!
Let me take a picture of you.
RABBIT
APPEARS AGAIN, LOOKS AT THE TIME AND RUNS OFF.
ALICE
Rabbit, wait…my picture. And he has an iPhone! I AM SO
JEALOUS!
WHITE RABBIT
Oh my fur and whiskers! I´m late, I´m late, I´m late!
ALICE
Now that’s curious! What could a rabbit be late for?
...Please sir!
WHITE RABBIT
I´m late, I´m late, for a very important date! No time to
say hello, goodbye, hello!
I´m late, I´m late, I´m late!
ALICE
It must be awfully important, like a rave or something!
Mister Rabbit! Wait!
ALICE
RUNS
AFTER RABBIT.
WHITE RABBIT
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, I’m overdue. I’m really in a
stew.
No time to say goodbye or hello! I’m late, I’m late, I’m
late!
ALICE
Oh my, what a peculiar place to have a rave! I have to
Instagram this! And Snapchat this!
ALICE
CHASES THE RABBIT THROUGH A FIELD.
ALICE
Wow, this is a fast rabbit.
WHITE RABBIT
I’m late, I’m late, I’m late.
THE
STAGE IS COVERED IN A THICK HAZE.
ALICE
I just saw... a rabbit…wearing a vest. And he was saying…he
is—
LAAAAAATE!
ALICE
FALLS INTO THE HOLE.
