Life's Got Me...

By Abrahim Harb

"Drowning" by Thomas Tibitanz
Life's got me.
I'm drowning,
with nobody there to help.

I'm dead.
Yep, my body is floating there
—lifeless.
My soul becomes dark,
my eyes become flush,
the bitter aftertaste is gone,
as my soul floats into the abyss.
The life in me disappears:
I see no light,
I see no passion,
I see
—nothing.

Frustration evolved,
the hurt clustered.

If a light was shown on me,
maybe that bitter aftertaste would have passed,
instead of me.
